From our registry harbour Harlingen the wadden sea and IJsselsea are easy sailable. But also the Friesian inland waters are just around the corner. If you wish you can discuss any route with the skipper. They are dependent from the sailing capacity of the ship, the feasibility of the area and the weather conditions.
The IJssel Sea the former Zuider Sea with its historic ports, which remind of former periods – as well as the wad with its sandbanks and thousands of seals are starting points of adventurous sailing turns. With their flora and fauna both offer variety and relaxation. A quite different atmosphere can be enjoyed by sailing the Friesian inland water channels along bridges and locks through picturesque towns. |

The Wad
| On the wad we can still head for real islands, which emerge only after some time on the horizon. At low tide you can run over the wad, at high tide it is a marvellous protected sea, where there is always something to explore; a salty paradise for all nature lovers. Nature itself reigns here. Most beautiful are the dike banks and the drying sandbanks, where an unbelievable diversity of birds flapping around breeding and chirping. All kinds of Sea Gulls, Sea Swallows, and Eider ducks, Oystercatchers, Curlews, Avocets, Spoonbills and even a single Flamingo provide for an enthralling performance. Tide ways and tidal creeks stretch between the nourishing muds, which is flooded twice a day in order to deposit even more mud. Everything is in constant motion, every where birds can be heard – delightful. Here on the wad also single day turns can be arranged. |

Terschelling
During one weekend Terschlingen or Vlieland can be reached sailing ideally from Harlingen. You come on board Friday evening. In case you have ordered your shopping in advance everything is already prepared, you can also order small bier barrels from the skipper. You will be received by the crew. In case you have to celebrate something or plan a surprise we can also hire an accordion player in order to enhance the vibes. In the evening there is sufficient time left to have a drink in one of the many haven cafes or to stroll through Harlingen.
Afterwards it’s a pleasure to live under deck of the Actief. After a short induction sailing course by the ship’s mate we set sails. Soon after the Actief is on route to Terschelling or Vlieland; this depends sometimes on weather or tide. After mooring you have sufficient time to explore the island. There is something for every taste; you can go dining out or make use of our catering service; Eyou can cook yourself something tasty in our well equipped caboose. On Sunday we will sail back to Harlingen. But as you like you can also hire the Actief for one day, a five day week or week wise. |

Falling dry
| The Wad is an unparalleled nature territory. As far as weather wind and tide allow, there an option to let the ship fall dry. You can then at low tide run round the ship. Fallen dry on the wad your hotel then stands in the middle of the rough solitude of the biggest and most beautiful nature territory of the Netherlands. This is amongst others possible during a turn ‘from island to island’. |
